Dynamic Load Mitigation of 3D-printed Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Structures

Three types of triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) structures are chosen to investigate the quasi-static and dynamic compressive behaviors in this paper. All TPMS lattices (Primitive, Gyroid, IWP) have same relative density 37.5%, samples fabricated by 3D printing selective laser melting technique using AlSi10Mg powder. The energy absorption performance load mitigation printed under three different impact velocities compared, corresponding engineering strain rates 143 s −1 , 286 571 respectively. results numerical simulation indicate that IWP structure has highest specific (SEA) plateau stress, followed Gyroid structure, finally Primitive structure.
